Draftmode Draftmode is a mode in which the printer prints text as fast as possible without regard to the print quality. Microsoft Word and some other programs offer a "Draft Mode", allowing you to print documents using less toner or ink than normal. These documents don't look as clean or as crisp as regular documents, but they are great for quickly printing out versions of your documents as you refine them.

Toner Toner is a fine and dry carbon-based powder mixed with a polymer that is applied to the paper used in photocopiers and laser printers to form images and the printed text on the paper. The toner is presented in sealed cartridges. Toners intended for use in color printers and copiers come in Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK). In earlier machines toner was poured by the user from a bottle into a reservoir in the machine. Modern machines feed directly from a cartridge. Empty toner cartridges are normally refilled by the vendor. Empty cartridges are often refilled by third party vendors.
Toner optimization Reduction of the toner cartridge costs in printing by using a print management software to control the amount of toner used. A software solution that drastically reduces toner consumption.

Quality, long printing life, speed, and efficiency of laser-imaged applications are a big reason why people choose toner cartridges. Toner cartridges are quite large, hold a substantial amount of toner, and can usually print at least 5,000 pages. The toner cartridge is more expensive than an in jet cartridge but it has a much longer printing life.
